In Guatemala: THE STREET CHILDREN MOVEMENT (MOJOCA)
On a substantial level the movement is the spontaneous association of hundreds of youngsters coming from the street, who, after a training period, engage themselves to respect its rules, with the consequent rights and duties.
The girls and boys of the street who join the movement, through the assembly, which is the self-decision structure of the movement, take their own decisions how to plan the activities and how to use the money (coming mostly from institutions, bodies, associations and friendship networks, in Guatemala and aboroad) and appoint their co-ordinators, who are members (together with some adults advisors) of the steering committee, which is the self-management structure of the movement, encharged to execute the assembly decisions.
On a formal level the movement profits by a non lucrative civil association of adults, whch plays a double rôle:
to represent the movement by institutions, bodies, associations and friendship networks, in Guatemala and abroad, sending documentation, receiving funds destinated to the movement, supervising movement's activities and approving movement's decisions
to support the movement by means of economical contributions and voluntary jobs; from this point of view the association is a friendship network, such as the ones existing abroad
The members of the association, through the assembly, appoint the management board, encharged to execute the assembly decisions.
The co-ordinators, appointed by the youngsters in the steering committee, receive a modest salary for their full time work in the movement.
So modest is also the salary received by the adult companions and instructors, with the rôle of teachers and advisors, for a full time, hard, sometimes dangerous, job. They do it with enthusiasm and passion, not for money.
Many volunteers, coming mostly from abroad, help the movement almost in the teaching and training activities of the girls and boys.
The friendship network was established in Guatemala City on the 18th of March 2015. Some tenth of persons, couples and groups are part of the friendship network.
In Italy: THE FRIENDSHIP AND SUPPORT NETWORK TO STREET CHILDREN (AMISTRADA)
The friendship network is an ETS (Third Sector Entity), formed by one fourty members.
Besides the members, some hundreds people and some tenths of groups help the network as supporters (they give a financial contribution or do a voluntary job)
Besides the members and the supporters, the sympathizers too (those who want to receive news on network activities) regularly receive news from the movement.
The network takes every year the fundamental decisions to develop the friendship and solidarity relations with the girls and boys of the movement, through the general assembly, opened to the members (who have the right to vote) and to the the supporters and sympathizers (who do not have the right to vote).
The assembly appoints the steering committee, which is charged to work out the daily management of the project, the programming and the sending of the reports, the production of the literature to spread ten knowledge of the network, the relations with Guatemala, and with the co-operators, the search of funds.
From the point of view of the territory the friendship network is organised with about twenty support groups.
We invite other friends to join us for this aim of diffusion.
The contributions given may be deducted from the income liable to tax.
In Belgium: THE FRIENDSHIP AND SUPPORT NETWORK TO STREET CHILDREN
Some tenths of people and some groups take part to the network.
The participants regularly receive news about the project and who would like it, he/she can communicate either with a girl or a boy.
The co-ordination and administration are insured by the Centre of Rural Development (CDR) of Ansart.
The money transfers to Guatemala are done by OXFAM.
The money given to the movement of street youngsters may be deducted from taxes.
